Grace Darling

- (1815-42) an English woman who helped her father, a lighthouse keeper, to rescue nine sailors during a storm off the coast of Northumberland in 1838. Her name is still remembered, and her father's boat is now in a museum in the village of Bamburgh, where she was born.
