Little Red Riding Hood

- a traditional story found in many European countries. A girl called Little Red Riding Hood goes to visit her grandmother in the forest, but when she arrives a wolf (= a wild animal like a large dog) has eaten her grandmother and put on her clothes. Little Red Riding Hood is surprised at the appearance of her grandmother and says, ‘Grandmother, what big eyes you have!’ ‘All the better to see you with,’ replies the wolf. ‘Grandmother, what big teeth you have!’ says the girl. ‘All the better to eat you with,’ replies the wolf, and eats her. Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother are saved when a hunter cuts open the wolf's stomach and they escape.
