Augustus Pugin

- (1812-52) an English architect and designer. He was a leading figure in the English Gothic Revival, and had an important influence on the Arts and Crafts Movement. Pugin was a Roman Catholic, and designed several Catholic churches and cathedrals, but is best remembered for his work with Charles Barry on the decoration inside the Houses of Parliament.
