    CultureThe Mohawks were part of the Iroquois League, and tradition says that Hiawatha was their leader. They originally lived in New York State in the Mohawk Valley along the Mohawk River, and they helped the British during the American Revolution. Mohawks are known today as excellent steel workers who help to construct skyscrapers (= very tall buildings).
