Offa's Dyke

- a large bank of earth along the border between England and Wales. It was built in the 8th century by Offa, a king of Mercia, as a protection against the Britons who lived to the west of it. Later, it became the border between the two countries. Today Offa's Dyke is a National Trail and people enjoy walking along it, or parts of it.
