Omar Bradley

- (1893-1981) a US general in the Second World War. He led the Allied forces at Normandy on D-Day in 1944 and into Germany. He then became the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1949 to 1953. Bradley was named General of the Army in 1950. He won many medals including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
