Peyton Place /ˌpeɪtn ˈpleɪs/ /ˌpeɪtn ˈpleɪs/ - a novel (1956) by the US writer Grace Metalious which shocked many people but still sold millions of copies. It is about the sexual relationships and often dishonest behaviour of people living in a small New England town.
