Teapot Dome

- a US political scandal in 1922 in the government of President Warren G Harding. Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall secretly accepted money from the Mammoth Oil Company to let them develop oil lands at Teapot Dome, Wyoming, and Elks Hill, California. The Senate investigated, and Fall left the government in 1923. He was later sent to prison.
