- an agreement signed by Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister, and Franklin D Roosevelt, the US President, in 1941 about the rights of nations and international relations. Its main purpose was to condemn the actions of Germany. In 1942 statements of the Atlantic Charter became part of the Declaration of the United Nations.
