释义	the Waverley novels /ðə ˈweɪvəli nɒvlz/ /ðə ˈweɪvərli nɑːvlz/ the name given to the novels of Sir Walter Scott because he said at the beginning of them that they were written 'by the author of Waverley' and did not give his name.
