the White Tower

- the oldest part of the Tower of London. It is a large Normankeep (= an ancient castle, built to be very strong) made of white stone at the centre of the group of buildings. In the 17th century the bones of two children were found there, and many people believe that they are the bones of the Princes in the Tower.
