- a very tall building in the US that was from 1973 to 1996 the tallest in the world, and is now the second-tallest in the US, after One World Trade Center in New York. The Willis Tower was called the Sears Tower until 2009 and is still often referred to as that. It is in Chicago and was built by Sears, Roebuck and Company. The building is 1 450 feet/443 metres high, with 110 floors.
