- the main character of two best-selling humorous novels by Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary (1996) and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (1999), which were both made into popular films with Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones. She is a young, single woman in her thirties living in London who has problems with men and worries a lot about her appearance, work and lifestyle. A third book Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy was published in 2013, and a third film, Bridget Jones's Baby, came out in 2016.
