Woburn Abbey

- a stately home near the town of Bedford in southern England. It was built in the 18th century on land where an abbey (= religious building) had once been. It is open to the public, who come to see the many works of art in the house, and the deer and birds in the attractive gardens. It also has a safari park (= a park where people can drive round and see wild animals, such as lions).
