- a guard who dressed in a traditional uniform at the Tower of London. Yeomen Warders are thought to have existed since the White Tower was built in the 11th century. They wear a red uniform from the Tudor period similar to that worn by the Yeomen of the Guard. For visitors to London, they are often seen as one of the symbols of the city.
