Zambia

- a country in southern central Africa. As Northern Rhodesia it used to be part of the British Empire and became independent and a member of the Commonwealth in 1964. Zambia has many minerals and produces a large amount of the world's copper (= a soft red-brown metal). Its official language is English and its capital city is Lusaka.
