Childe Harold's Pilgrimage

- a long poem (1812-18) by Lord Byron. It tells the story of a young Englishman travelling through several European countries, and of the romantic ideas and historical events that these places make him think of. It is one of Byron's best-known poems, and describes many of his own feelings and experiences.
