/ˌkəʊld ˌkʌmfərt ˈfɑːrm/
- a humorous novel (1932) by the English author Stella Gibbons (1902-89), about a lonely farm and the strange people who live there. It is a parody (= a work that copies the style of another in order to be amusing) of the ‘ earthy ‘ novels influenced by Hardy and Lawrence that were fashionable in the 1920s.
