Dr Seuss

- the name used by the US writer and artist Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904-91) for his popular series of children's books. They are long, funny poems that have been praised as a good way to teach children to read. They include Horton Hears a Who (1954), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1957) and The Cat in the Hat (1957). Several were made into television cartoon films.
