Dylan Thomas

- (1914-53) a Welsh writer. He is known especially for his radio play Under Milk Wood (1953) and for his poems, the best known of which were published in two collections, Deaths and Entrances (1946) and Collected Poems (1952). His collection of short stories, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog, was published in 1940. Thomas had a reputation for often getting drunk and he died in the US as a result of drinking too much alcohol.
