Edwin Lutyens

- (1869-1944) an English architect. His early work on private houses was influenced by a wide range of English architecture, including medieval styles and those of the Arts and Crafts Movement. His later designs, as in the Cenotaph, London, and the government buildings in New Delhi, show the influences of Greek and Roman architecture. He was made a knight in 1918.
