Lord Nuffield

- born William Richard Morris (1877-1963) an English businessman who was the first person in Britain to mass-produce cars (= make them in large quantities by mechanical processes). He started his business repairing bicycles in , and soon moved into making bicycles and then cars. The Morris car company was very successful and Morris himself became very rich. He gave a lot of his money to hospitals and charities and also to University, where Nuffield College was named after him.
