- the name of a figure drawn by people on walls and other public places in Britain. He is usually shown as a face appearing above a wall, with a message complaining about a lack of something, such as ‘Wot (= What) no sausages?’ These drawings began to appear during the Second World War when Britain lacked many types of food and other things. They are less commonly seen now.
