Richard Wright

- (1908-60) a US writer whose best-known books are the novel Native Son and his own life story, Black Boy (1945). He also wrote a collection of stories, Uncle Tom's Children (1938). Wright was a Communist for many years. He lived in Paris after the Second World War and died there.
