People often say, ‘Elementary, my dear Watson’, when they think that a problem is easy to solve, although Holmes never actually says this in any of the stories. He is often shown wearing a special type of hat called a deerstalker and smoking a curved pipe. He also plays the violin and sometimes takes drugs. The Sherlock Holmes stories are still very popular and have been filmed many times. “It is quite a three-pipe problem, and I beg that you won't speak to me for fifty minutes.”
