- the series of matches in which Scottish football teams compete to win the Scottish FA Challenge Cup, commonly known as the Scottish Cup. The first series was held in 1873. The final match, which decides the winner, is played every year at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The winner of the Scottish Cup each year enters one of the major European competitions in the following season.
